Enjoy Cinco Ranch
The Cinco Ranch advantage means you´re never far from fun, starting with our newest amenity, the 76-acre Spring Green Recreation Center, featuring a scenic 30-acre lake surrounded by parks, greenbelts and wetland ledges. A water park with a resort-style swimming pool, 2 water slides and a children´s spray park offers refreshing fun for every member of the family, and a Children´s Garden invites the youngest ones to clamber over boulders and fallen timbers, explore a dry stream bed, and witness the cycle of life in a butterfly garden. At the heart of this recreation complex is The Lakehouse, featuring architecture inspired by historic Texas train depots. The Lakehouse has spacious indoor and outdoor gathering areas for up to 100, and residents can reserve this facility for meetings and special events.
Most current and future new-home construction in Cinco Ranch is located west of Katy Gaston Rd., which is represented by the Cinco Ranch Residential Association II and includes the Spring Green Recreation Center and a host of future planned amenities. Like many communities of its size, Cinco Ranch has more than one Homeowners Association, which has the benefit of giving homeowners a collectively stronger voice about issues affecting them closest to home in their individual neighborhoods. Other Cinco Ranch amenities, including The Beach Club and The Water Park, are part of the community´s first HOA, the Cinco Residential Property Association. Please visit the Simply Cinco New Home Information Center for additional information. Education
Cinco Ranch is proud to offer first-class education from pre-school through graduate school, from highly regarded institutions including the Katy Independent School District, University of Houston System at Cinco Ranch and Houston Community College System. Katy ISD: www.katyisd.org PrimaryAll parents want to give their children the best headstart in life. That's why Cinco Ranch is proudly served by five Katy ISD onsite elementary schools. Katy ISD uses proven instructional strategies so that children learn basic skills to build a foundation where critical thinking and other higher order thought processes are developed. To prepare students for the 21st century, state-of-the-art technology is used in the instructional programs. Along with regular classrooms, each KISD elementary school contains art, music, and resource classrooms, as well as a library, computer lab, gymnasium and cafeteria. KISD offers a full-day Kindergarten program. SecondaryThere is no underestimating the importance of high quality secondary education in today's fast-changing and competitive world. Cinco Ranch students benefit from junior and senior high schools that receive strong support from the community. Several secondary schools, including Cinco Ranch Junior High and Cinco Ranch High and the new Seven Lakes High School, are located on-site in state-of-the-art facilities. KISD students consistently score well above the national average on standardized tests. More than 80% of high school graduates in Katy ISD go on to college. All KISD junior high schools have adopted the middle school education approach that is sensitive to the academic, social and emotional needs of the adolescent. KISD high schools are trailblazers when it comes to innovative course offerings. For example, students may enroll in college courses that earn dual high school credit (courses that earn both high school and college credit) or take Advanced Placement classes and AP exams for college credit. A multitude of elective courses address individual interests and aptitudes. Gifted And TalentedThroughout all grade levels, KISD students identified as gifted and talented participate in Challenge, a program that seeks to develop critical and creative thinking, problem solving, skills of independent inquiry and research skills and affective learning. Through the use of appropriate curriculum, Challenge provides gifted and talented students the opportunity to develop their individual interests and abilities. The thematic, differentiated curriculum includes mentor programs, Destination Imagination, creative problem solving competition, curriculum-related field trips, community involvement and independent study that allows interested students the opportunity to pursue in-depth topics of personal interest. Identification of students eligible for acceptance into the Challenge program are based on achievement, aptitude and creative/productive thinking scores, as well as parent and teacher recommendations. Special NeedsOne of Katy ISD's goals is to provide students with disabilities valuable educational experiences that prepare them for the future. Therefore, each student with a disability has the opportunity to participate in an appropriate educational setting designed to meet his/her individual needs. Most students with disabilities can be taught on their home school campus by the regular classroom teacher with support provided by special education professionals. Since all students need to have a sense of belonging, it is important to include students with disabilities with their peer groups. The Special Education Department adheres to a continuum of program options and related services to meet the needs of eligible disabled students. These include, mainstream, Content Mastery Centers, itinerant services, helping teacher, resource, self-contained, vocational, hospital and home-bound programs, regional day school for the deaf, preschool programs for children with disabilities, early childhood intervention, extended-year services, Braille instruction and orientation and mobility instruction. The Special Education Advisory Council serves as a resource network and a forum for dialog on special education issues in the Katy Independent School District. Covering 167 scenic acres, The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch is one of our community's most high-profile features. The Golf Club, owned by Evergreen Alliance Golf Limited (EAGL), is an 18-hole, par-71 daily fee course, characterized by 50 sand traps and nine water hazards unfolding amid the rise and fall of sculptured topography. The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch offers its popular Junior Golf Academy each summer. A great way to introduce children ages 6-17 to the game, the Academy emphasizes fun and fellowship, along with instruction in the fundamentals of a sound golf swing. Junior tournaments are open to junior golfers of all playing abilities who are members of The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch Junior Golf Association.
